EMILY, Minn. — A pilot who offers rides over Minnesota lakes and a passenger had been killed when the amphibious ultralight plane they had been driving in crashed in north central Minnesota, in accordance with the Crow Wing County sheriff officers.
Authorities recognized the victims as 61-year-old Douglas Johnson and a 58-year-old passenger, Lee Cemensky, of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Each died on the scene of the crash Sunday in some woods northwest of Emily. Johnson operated the enterprise Fly the Swan.
The Federal Aviation Administration says the 2010 Cygnet plane crashed underneath “unknown circumstances’ whereas making an attempt to land.
