SAN FRANCISCO — A farmworker charged with killing seven folks at two Half Moon Bay mushroom farms reportedly instructed investigators he was spurred to hold out the shootings after his supervisor demanded he pay $100 to restore a forklift broken at work.

San Mateo County District Lawyer Steve Wagstaffe confirmed to the Bay Space Information Group Friday that Chunli Zhao was enraged by the gear invoice, saying {that a} co-worker was guilty for the collision between his forklift and the co-worker’s bulldozer.

KNTV-TV, the NBC affiliate within the San Francisco Bay Space, was first to report the event.

A gunman killed 7 people in shootings in Half Moon Bay, California

Authorities say Zhao, 66, shot and killed 4 employees and wounded a fifth worker Monday at California Terra Backyard. He then went to close by Harmony Farms, the place he had labored beforehand, and fatally shot three former co-workers.

Zhao instructed KNTV-TV in a courthouse interview Thursday that he dedicated the shootings. He stated he was bullied and labored lengthy hours on the farms and his complaints had been ignored, the station reported.

On Monday, Zhao vented to his supervisor concerning the invoice, however the supervisor insisted he wanted to pay. Zhao then allegedly shot the supervisor and the co-worker, the information retailers reported.

Talking in Mandarin, Zhao instructed the tv station from a county jail in Redwood Metropolis that he has been within the U.S. for 11 years and has a inexperienced card. He stated he has a 40-year-old daughter in China and lived together with his spouse in Half Moon Bay.

The coroner’s workplace has named six of the victims: Zhishen Liu, 73, of San Francisco; Marciano Martinez Jimenez, 50, of Moss Seashore, California; Aixiang Zhang, 74, of San Francisco; Qizhong Cheng, 66, of Half Moon Bay; Jingzhi Lu, 64, of Half Moon Bay; and Yetao Bing, 43, whose hometown was unknown.

The charging paperwork recognized Jose Romero Perez as the opposite individual killed and Pedro Romero Perez because the eighth sufferer, who survived.
